The Gateway Family YMCA Five Points Branch is seeking an energetic and passionate Aquatics Coordinator. 

Come join The Gateway Family YMCA Five Points Branch! We are seeking an energetic and passionate Aquatics Coordinator who will assist in providing director and leadership to the Aquatics Department. Candidate must have the ability to provide outstanding customer service and create a work atmosphere in which serving others is the number one priority, work effectively with staff, work independently, perform multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

In partnership with the Aquatics Director, responsibilities include:

  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff 
  • Plan, schedule and implement programming and recreational swim
  • Help develop and monitor the departmental budget
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of aquatics facility/equipment
  • Lifeguard, deck supervise and instruct classes
  • Adhere to Aquatic Safety Standard and Guidelines
  • Assume or perform any other duties deemed necessary by immediate supervisor or The Gateway Family YMCA Association
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of one year experience supervising lifeguards and swim instructors
  • Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen Administration and First Aid certifications. American Red Cross Instructor certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration preferred
  • YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification
  • American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred
  • YMCA or Red Cross Swim Instructor certification
  • CPO Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of YMCA best practices and procedures as they pertain to pool operations, supervisory concepts and techniques, and customer service practices and principles
  • Exemplifies a proactive, hands-on approach, as well as a professional work ethic
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills. Must be detail-oriented
  • Must have flexible schedule with ability to work early morning, weekends and weekday evenings as scheduled
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00
