The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for programming and direction of aquatic program and staff.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Plan, and organize aquatics programs. Coordinate monthly schedules.
  • Recruit, supervise and evaluate performance of aquatics staff. Manage staff schedule and assignments.
  • Ensure proper care and use of facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor enrollment and usage numbers of facilities and member program enrollments.
  • Ensure quality member service to all members and participants at all times.
  • Actively market aquatics programs to schools and community.
  • Provide safe and effective swim instruction to members and participants.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards and all other policies and procedures.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience: 

The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. First Aid and CPR certification. YMCA, Red Cross or other any other nationally recognized Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor certification required.
  • At least 4 years experience in swim program delivery and aquatics.
  • One to 2 years experience with customer/member relations and program planning and implementation.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer and results orientation.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to be an effective member of project teams.
  • Must be able to swim 50 yards.
