The position will align current, future, evolution, and replication of evidence-based programming towards an integrated vision; work to shape priorities; monitor relevant shifts in the regional and national landscape; and develop systems and relationships to ensure our Y is positioned to leverage opportunities to expand its reach and impact. The position will support all programs, articulating and implementing the strategic vision of the organization within its walls and throughout the community while evaluating the effectiveness of programs to support the improvement of health & education in our community.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Represent the association internally and with the community as valued team member of the organization. - Consistently and clearly communicate and work with Branch Directors and Sr. Directors to ensure the strategic goals of the association are met.
- Work with Vice President of System Administration to drive the continuous improvement process in the association using data and evaluations
- Communicate our Y’s work and impact advocating with community groups including but not limited to State Alliance of YMCA’s, Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Tulsa Area United Way.
- Support programs through research, development and procurement of grant funds for ongoing and new programs and initiatives.
- Develop community partnerships that will support the YMCA of Greater Tulsa in achieving greater impact in line with the strategic plan.
- Develop and drive the implementation of innovative programs and services.
- Work with Chief Learning Officer to drive a human centered design process for creative problem solving and innovation. (Continuous Improvement)
- Work with Chief Learning Officer in developing a team of staff and volunteers to explore new opportunities for the association
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Operations to ensure the effectiveness of program operations
- Work closely with Vice President of Mission Advancement to ensure all current and potential programs meet and exceed donor needs and expectations, while in compliance with the highest standards of the field.
- Support the procurement of funds for programs through data driven evidence.
- Support & foster innovation while maintaining program quality - Lead existing programs, pilot programs and new initiatives through program development, management, quality & evaluation with all association departments and VPs - Work closely with VP of Mission Advancement to ensure all current and potential programs meet and exceed donor needs and expectations, while in compliance with the highest standards of the field.
- Serve as liaison representing the Y in the community to support health & education initiatives
- Challenge thought processes and participate in decision making with association leadership.
- Lead volunteers - Assist in management of board committees including, education, membership and medical advisory
- Given the dynamic nature of association’s work, the job will inevitably grow and change over time. The recommendations for these changes and participation in their implementation will be a crucial element in advancing associations ability to carry out its mission.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in healthy living, education, youth development, or membership models
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in fundraising
- Minimum 3-5 years experience using data to evaluate and measure programs
- Volunteer and Full-Time Staff supervision experience
- Knowledge & experience in budgeting, fiscal management, financial development, and community relations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Goal oriented - Sets short and long term goals for yourself and others
- Team builder - Able to build and develop teams with the power of persuasion, not position (would not supervise the entire team)
- Results oriented - In business, as a supervisor, and as a individual
- Strong work ethic – Willing to put in extra effort as needed for success
- Adaptable and flexible – Able to handle multiple current and long range projects from a development, activation, and replication standpoint.

- Passion to serve - You will make a direct and indirect difference on a daily basis in the lives of those in the Tulsa Metro area through your acts of service at the YMCA of Greater Tulsa.
- Strong written skills-Having the ability to convey desired outcomes in a clear and grammatically correct way
- Flexible schedule - A Y employees schedule DOES provide a great deal of flexibility. This job is not simply a 9am-5pm M-F position. The ability to attend functions, be present at certain peak times, be involved in the community, etc. ensures that work life balance is in your hands. Know that some days may be longer, and some days may be shorter than others.
Preferred:
- YMCA Organizational Leader
- Minimum 5 years in YMCA or similar industry
- Bilingual - English/Spanish
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $82,000.00 - $87,000.00
