The Sr. Director of Healthy Living will develop, lead, and supervise all health initiatives and programs, meeting the needs of YMCA members, the community, and community partners. Specifically this includes fitness classes, personal training, small group training, and community partnerships in Healthy Living. They will supervise the Healthy Living Directors & Coordinators. They will have a direct focus on recruitment and retention of new members through programs designed for their specific needs, customer service, developing and managing medical partnerships and program development. They will represent the Y as a leader of health in the community. They will have responsibility for establishing the sustainable delivery of health programs and initiatives through fundraising and fees.
- Responsible for budgeting, expense control, & income generation for healthy living programs.
- Ensure growth in membership retention and recruitment.
- Build & enhance community partnerships.
- Develop and implement protocols for enhancing all health initiative programs.
- Develop new health initiative programs needed by communities.
- Focus on community health initiatives through community coalitions, advocating for policies related to improving community health, and implementing educational material to the community.
- Work with the staff at all levels at the branches to change the “culture” of our Y’s to enhance our ability to engage members and to help members achieve their health goals.
- Create and deliver intentional programming that produces results (e.g. classes and programs that focus on specific health needs or goals) by utilizing and analyzing data across the association to meet the needs of our members.
- Lead, supervise and train health & fitness staff in specifics related to health initiatives programs.
- Recruit, develop, and retain volunteers for fundraising.
- Consistently communicate with staff teams regarding health initiatives programs.
- Model relationship building skills in all interactions.
- Assist with annual promotion plan for health initiative programs including flyers, news releases, advertisements, etc.
- Develop and lead the corporate wellness and membership programs for the association.
- Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to a variety of conditions.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in health promotion or developing and managing wellness programs.
- Volunteer and Staff supervision experience
- Knowledge of the YMCA as a membership organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of budgeting & expense control
Salary: $48,000.00 - $54,000.00
