The Branch  Director will administer all functions related to the Membership Department with a direct focus of recruitment and retention of new members through excellent customer service.  This person will also be responsible for  the supervision of the member services department, customer service, staff development and operation of facility as well as work with an advisory board and be responsible for fundraising.  The Branch Director is the leader for the branch, with indirect supervision over all branch staff except membership.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure growth in membership sales and recruitment
  • Responsible for budgeting, expense control, & income generations in the membership department.
  • Increase membership retention
  • Recruit, develop and lead volunteers and staff in raising the goal amount of the For A Better Us Campaign
  • Recruit, develop and lead the board of advisors.
  • Recruit, develop and lead front desk staff.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain volunteers in membership as well as fundraising.
  • Consistently communicate with property managers regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.
  • Facilitate communication between all departments so members are aware of all programs & opportunities available to them.
  • Coordinate scheduling so facility operates seamlessly.
  • Assist with annual promotion plan for membership including flyers, brochures, website, newsletter, news releases, advertisements, etc.
  • Accurate and timely with all assignments, deadlines, etc.
  • Responsible for all communication coming from membership to front desk & other departments
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in the customer service industry.
  • Volunteer or Staff supervision experience
  • Proven ability to raise funds and grow membership
  • Proven ability to work with a volunteer board/committee
  • Knowledge of the YMCA as a membership organization

Preferred:

  • Masters Degree
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Knowledge of budgeting & expense control.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish
  • Current O2 Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High level of concentration and aptitude for learning wide variety of program information and new computer applications
  • Physically able to tour members  inside and outside facility as needed
  • Physically able to lift 35+ pounds occasionally.
  • Physically able to sit at a computer station for extended periods of time
  • Ability to speak distinctly to communicate with customers and staff on the phone or in person
  • Patience to deal with 5 or more people at the same time
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills for dealing with daily issues in a variety of situations.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $54,000.00 - $63,000.00
