As a valued member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position supports the work of the Capital Region YMCA (formerly the Trenton YMCA), a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The candidate will develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA programs in the areas of Before and After School, Day Camp, General Programming and Sports. The Capital Region YMCA offers medical, dental, and vision benefits. Retirement plan eligible after two years of employment working at least 1,000 hours per year.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and membership growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Establishes new program activities and youth-focused special events, and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
- Devlops and maintains collaboroateive relationships with community organizations
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
- Complies program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- High functioning computer skills including Office, database software, and research.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check and provide legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention and all training requirements for Child Care Exempt Licensing standards; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00
