Under the limited direction and guidance of the COO and Director of Community Initiatives and consistent with the mission of the YMCA and the policies and guidelines of the Trenton YMCA, the Food Access Coordinator will provide over site of the meals and snack programs. Direct oversight of the CACFP and SFSP includes food purchases, contracts, grant applications and compliance, reimbursements, and community outreach while seeking additional grant funding opportunities related to outreach. The Food Access Coordinator will also serve as the Market Manager for The Greenwood Ave. Farmers Market. Market Manager responsibilities include completing administrative tasks during the week, coordinating partners and managing operations on site at the market every Monday (June through October). The Trenton YMCA offers medical, dental, and vision benefits. Retirement plan eligible after two years of employment working at least 1,000 hours per year.

- Adhere to the policies of the Trenton YMCA, state and federal food management guidelines.
- Pursue collaborations with purpose of promoting new and improved programs that build community relationships
- Identify and pursue outreach grant opportunities
- Ability to make autonomoous decisions specifically related to food menus, budgeting, reimbursements, oversight of administrative and staff records.
- Communicate with managers to ensure high level of communication.
- Attend monthly site meetings to inform all staff of food program initiatives, requirements, etc.
- Be available before and after site operations to meet with site staff
- Troubleshoot site issues and brainstorm with the team
- Maintain accurate records of inventory. Ensure all materials and food are properly stored for safety.
- Plan with managers to prepare for upcoming programs and new sites.
- In partnership with the Leadership, participate in all planning and execution of marketing events, specialevents, and family nights. Expectation to be present at events and lead events in a manner that excites, encourages, and supports site staff.
- Have knowledge of and follow all emergency procedures.
- CACFP & SFSP Programs - Responsible for ensuring all records maintained by sites and in the office are complete, accurate, and on time. Apply for reimbursements in a timely manner and in accordance with regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring all foods are maintained, delivered, and re-used in a safe manner.
- Support and actively participate in Annual Giving Campaign.
- Assist with other projects or activities as needed.
- Coordinate roles and responsibilities with Farmer Market vendors, health services, DJs, partners involved with Fests, and volunteers
- Hire, train and manage Farmer Market staff and volunteers
- Attend community events to help promote the market
- Plan Fests including activity ideas; Connect with partners; Order giveaways
- Schedule DJs, Vendors, Health Services, and Volunteers for market
- Respond to all emails and phone calls inquiring about the market
- Attend planning and funder required meetings
- Develop a concise marketing plan
- Follow accounting procedures
- Online data input, and surveys input

- Bachelor’s Degree not required, but preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred, but not required
- Understanding, knowledge of, and experience leading staff teams, identifying natural leaders and providing development opportunities for staff to further their education and commitment to the YMCA and its Mission.
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid are required. Certifications are required to be updated annually.
- Warm and friendly personality and a positive role model for children, staff, and parents.
- Strong appreciation for working in a diverse environment that values full inclusion of staff and membership.
- Strong communication skills delivered with a positive attitude. Organization and quick follow-through is "key" to a candidate's success in this position. Able to manage several projects at once and oversee them through completion is imperative.
