The Bradford County Branch YMCA is seeking a full time membership and wellness director to work closely with the members and families we serve.  The director will be responsible for overall membership accountability related to sales and retention.  With a dynamic voice, this individual will ensure Y communication is consistent and engaging, as well as utilize a cross-functional approach to membership retention by working with program area coordinators and directors. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Implements membership strategies that promote recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.  Organizes assigned staff to support membership development and retention goals.  Identifies and resolves problem areas to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members through logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration.
  • Coordinates with Membership Development Specialist in regard to Corporate Wellness initatives.
  • Cordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments; and provides ongoing support to other Program Directors on related issues.
  • Creates and schedules wellness classes.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises assigned staff which may include coordinators, instructors, and trainers.
  • Maintain equipment and facitlities.
  • Purchases equipment, parts, and supplies as required.
  • Coordinates and schedules equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitors daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
  • Designs and implements new health and wellness programs.
  • Oversees program and staff in the Childwatch department, which utilizes the care of children for members while they are using facilities.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Understanding of and ability to use/learn computer based software systems.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $24,000.00 - $25,000.00
