The Director of Alumni will coordinate communications and data to assure a successful annual campaign for YMCA Storer Camp and Camp Catch-A- Rainbow, and develop formal alumni, volunteer and management systems and engagement activities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Administrative
  • Coordinate communications for 90+ volunteers for the annual campaign that includes information sharing, pledge card management, newsletters and problem solving unique situations.
  • Works with the Association Development Department for Giving Tuesday and year end giving and coordinates social media messaging for these events.
  • Coordinate recruiting, screening, communications and background checks for 50+ volunteers for Camp Catch -A - Rainbow.
  • Coordinate communications and events with existing and new volunteer/alumni groups.
  • Develop volunteer/alumni data base to assist with volunteer needs and development.
  • Develop or schedule alumni cultivation and engagement activities.
  • Assist with all-camp activities, including summer overnight camp check-in.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as necessary.
  • Maintain organization of camp archives.
  • Produce monthly online newsletter for alumni and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands.

  • Physical Mobility: walking, climbing, stairs, standing, kneeling, bending, leaning, stooping and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Physical Dexterity: ability to use telephone, computer, electronic equipment, office equipment (fax, copier, stapler, etc.), tools and machinery as needed.
  • Lifting: ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds while climbing stairs.
  • Sensory Requirements: ability to hear, listen, speak, smell, touch, taste, see and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to drive vehicles (golf carts, car, van)
  • Ability to maintain alertness for several hours at a time.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
Educational Background: 
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and passion and understanding of the youth camping industry.
Skills/Experience: 
  • The Director of Alumni must possess outstanding communication and organizational skills in order to relate to the entire camp community and to achieve the desired results on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • The success of the incumbent depends on superior verbal, writing, organization and interpersonal relationship skills.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $24,000.00 - $26,500.00
