The Development Specialist performs support services, data management, donor support, and other administrative duties for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Areas of Responsibility:
Oversight and donor coding for:
- Donors, employees, and volunteers.
- Generate thank you and acknowledgement notes memorial gift family letters, grants, and other correspondence of the Association and annually update memorial plaques for all three offices.
- Add and remove names from mailing lists.
- Serve as lead liaison with home office on all donor database issues.
- Open and process mail in tandem with another staff member on a daily basis following chapter cash handling and mail processing policies.
Provide administrative support for the development team including:
- Answer telephone as needed and greet guests of the Association.
- Development office functions.
- Maintain daily and weekly calendars for development team activities.
- Schedule fundraising committee meetings and organize meeting materials and sending/calling for meeting reminders and RSVPs.
- Generate fundraising reports through Luminate and Team Approach as requested or needed.
- Consolidate ordering of all supplies, printing, and other needs for the development team then get approval prior to ordering.
- Participate in development team planning activities as requested.
Coordinate fundraising event supplies, materials, and equipment
- Create and maintain inventory of Walk equipment, supplies, and materials and generate list of needs/repairs/replacement as necessary.
- Organize and prepare Walk equipment, supplies, and materials for each Walk to End Alzheimer’s event.
- Organize and catalogue incentive, promotional, and award items for all events and fundraising activities.
- Arrange all transportation of event equipment, supplies, and materials for each fundraising event.
Other administrative duties as needed, which may include:
- Make bank deposits of cash and coin.
- Provide limited support for marketing/communications and public policy activities.

Skills/Experience:
- Experienced in administrative support for events.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn Luminate, Team Approach, and Personify CMS applications.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain detailed records.
- A customer service approach to work.
- Work effectively with volunteers, staff, and external contacts to build and maintain successful teams.
- Prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
- Communicate effectively in person, in writing, and electronically to a variety of audiences.
