The Bucyrus-Tiffin YMCA Board of Directors is looking for an engaging action-orientated leader who can build strong relationships in the communities we serve. This leader must have demonstrated experience with developing strategic approaches to address community needs; positioning this YMCA as an indispensable community asset. As the leader, be seen and respected as a leader within the community while always upholding the highest standards of the values of the YMCA.
The ideal candidate will embody and establish a culture of inclusion, integrity, character, and service within the Bucyrus and Tiffin branches and promote the values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. The leader must ensure that every member that interacts with the YMCA is left with a sense of belonging; must be able to inspire and mobilize every staff member, member and board volunteer to make our communities stronger.
- Establish and Shape the Culture: Must possess the confidence and skill to create a plan to build unity across branches, encourage teamwork, set operational goals tied to a strategic plan, hold staff accountable and foster individual staff development. Encourage the team by creating a spirit of camaraderie and commitment to the Y mission. Be the heart and soul of the operation, actively interact and communicate with members and staff. Role model the behavior that is to be reflected in Y staff. Create a culture of excellence within the Y.
- Fiscal Management Expertise: Balance the budget through revenue growth and expense management to support day-to-day operations. Identify and develop new and long-term revenue streams. Establish programs as identified in the strategic plan that impact community needs and solidify organizational sustainability, leading to superior results in programs, membership, and community engagement. Consistently demonstrate the ability to make sound financial decisions.
- Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan: Develop a plan of action to address any specific areas that are in need of enrichment or development including, but not limited to, enhancement of programs and services to impact community needs; and enhancement of the operational performance. Create and execute a strategy for achieving fundraising and revenue goals. Work with the board and the appropriate YMCA staff to develop an annual tactical plan for achieving identified goals and objectives.
- Advocate the YMCA Vision Within the Community: Act as an ambassador for the YMCA within the community by instilling confidence, credibility, and trust in the Y with corporations, foundations, and major donors. Identify and gain access to new pipelines of support. Demonstrate a high level of comfort communicating the meaningful cause of the YMCA. Be seen and respected as a leader within the community, proactively creating collaborations while always upholding the highest standards of the values of the YMCA.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum five years prior experience in a management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff.
- Must possess strong financial skills and abilities.
- Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve.
Preferred Criteria for Candidates:
- YMCA Organizational Leader Certification.
- Fiscally sound business management approach.
- Strategic planning and fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants.
Salary: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00
