Great opportunity with the Tampa YMCA to join this dynamic, $34 million charity. We are seeking a proven, self-motivated, cause-driven professional to join our IT team. Under the direction of the Vice President of IT, the System Administrator maintains the organization's work flow and keeps its lines of communication open. They are responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of all computer systems and servers.
Information Technology Operations:
- Participates in departmental projects, ensuring that projects are clearly defined, systematically executed, fully documented, and business results oriented. Adherence to Project Management processes and standards.
- Supports/contributes/performs operational procedures and standards within assigned department with business objectives in mind, according to vendor best practices.
- Certifies, installs, configures, and/or maintains YMCA Client operating systems, infrastructure, and middleware.
- Provides on call support and basic triage for the assigned department areas.
- Defines configuration specifications for new systems given application, business, and technical requirements.
- Utilizes problem management techniques to perform root cause analysis of system failures, and implement corrective actions.
- Measures application, OS, and hardware performance, and makes recommendations on correcting bottlenecks in systems performance.
- Communicates and documents YMCA operating system, infrastructure and technical issues within assigned departmental areas.
- Adapts and quickly assimilates new and refreshed operating systems/applications as implemented within the YMCA Data Center.
- Conducts technical evaluations within assigned departmental areas.
- Solicits feedback and guidance of best practices from manager and senior department team members
- Continually enhances knowledge of IT Operating Systems and YMCA standards in order to achieve departmental success and professional growth.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in system administration.
- MCSA/MSCE or equivalent experience
- VCP or VMware ESX/ESXi experience
- Backup Software and Backup Ideologies.
- Familiar with networking, firewalls, hardware and servers.
- Competent in providing direction and education on departmental procedures/policies/standards to less experienced departmental team members.
- Ability to work independently on small projects with minimal supervision.
- Able to understand YMCA Information System strategy and how it supports the business strategy.
- Familiar with the use of industry standard Project Management Methodologies and tools.
- Comfortable with fundamental concepts and terms related to IT operating systems, infrastructure and middleware.
- Ability to relate complex IT concepts and procedures to less technical team members.
- Previous experience with Windows server operating systems, infrastructure and cloud technologies.
Required support experience and/or current working knowledge in the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows XP/7/8
- Microsoft Sever 2003/8/r2/12/16
- Scripting/Automation
- Imaging
- Client encryption
- Troubleshooting client issues in a distributed environment.
