Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is recruiting for a Manager, Training to support our Training Department. This position is working for the National Office located in Tampa, FL. The Training Manager will report to and assist the Director of Training in the execution of strategic and tactical learning and performance improvement programs. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate experience coordinating all event logistics with instructor-led trainings and presentations, experience with eLearning software, and video editing software. Strong preference will be given to candidates that have previously developed training manuals, tool kits, and other resources to accompany training offerings.
To support the Director of Training in the development and execution of strategic and tactical learning and performance improvement programs that support the development of leaders, managers, and staff across the BBBS affiliate network. Collaborates with local Affiliate leadership and subject matter experts to make available quality training and shared best practices across a variety of topics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with identifying training topics requested and needed by the BBBS Network. Assists in developing trainings and ensuring effective implementation of training objectives in support and achievement of BBBS’s strategic direction and BBBSA’s operating plan. Ensures effective collaboration with other departments to enhance BBBS’s overall performance.
- Provides research and analysis, writing, and organizational support to training developers, instructional designers, and subject matter experts. Conducts extensive research on training topics to include current peer-reviewed literature, best practices in the field, and current statistics related to the findings and application of training topics.
- Develops training manuals, tool kits, and other resources to accompany training offerings.
- Plans annual Regional Training program offerings. Establishes standards for program delivery and provides guidance to vendors and staff. Coordinates all event logistics to include, at a minimum, initiating and managing the Request for Proposal process for host agencies, selecting presenters, securing event dates, locations, working with local host agencies, negotiating contracts, etc.
- Coordinates all event logistics for instructor-led trainings.
- Coordinates the Leadership Academy application and interview process. Coordinates all event logistics for the in-person training sessions.
- Develops and delivers workshop sessions at National Conference, regional conferences, leadership network or other forums as requested.
- Coordinates the review process for all National and Regional training PowerPoint presentations to ensure excellent content and visual quality across all presentations. Communicates the presentation standards and submission process to presenters and coordinates with them on required changes, technology, and set-up needs.
- Assists in sourcing and negotiating with vendors nationwide for courses / curriculum for national staff and affiliates at a reduced cost or in accord with other preferred purchasing arrangements. Assists in actively managing vendor relations with selected providers to ensure the quality of services to affiliates.
- Creates, monitors and updates survey tools assessing the effectiveness of BBBSA online training offerings and to collect data regarding network’s training needs.
- Monitors and updates the BBBSA Training Facebook Workplace page. Plans active training campaigns to increase learning and collaboration among the network.

- A minimum of 4 years related experience, preferably in a BBBS position.
