The Florida State Office of AARP is recruiting a graduate level intern to support its Advocacy efforts.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the management of Advocacy Manager (with the support of Sr. Program Assistant and Advocacy ASDs):

  • Track bills of interest through the legislative process to help with the composition of AARP Florida’s Report and Voting Record on Legislative Issues
  • Maintain the advocacy line
  • Research issues involving the 50-plus population
  • Pull together data and stats for meetings
  • Attend legislative and/or regulatory meetings and take notes as needed
  • Participate in relevant conference calls and take notes as needed
  • Develop Power Point presentations.
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed graduate program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising graduate student.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
