Do you have a passion for the mission of the Y? Would you like to create an atmosphere of emotional and spiritual engagement and safety at the YMCA? In the Y’s Mission Department, you can provide co-leadership to a more intentional positive staff experience as well as increasing the connection and competence to deliver the mission as a servant leader providing a transformational experience for those being served throughout the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • If hired for this position you will be dually responsible for the mission department at the branch and providing co-leadership to the spiritual integration work association wide.
  • As the mission director, you will come alongside branch staff to lead and create activities, offerings and opportunities within their programs that encourage emotional and spiritual engagement for all members and staff regardless of faith tradition.
  • You will work with association leadership and the Mission Department to supervise Mission staff and volunteers and the Mission department within a portion of Pierce and Kitsap Counties.
  • You will assist the association mission director in the strategic leadership of the Mission Cabinet.
Educational Background: 
I have a Bachelor’s degree in communication, ministry, business, or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • I have experience or knowledge in Christian ministry.
  • I have skills in customer service, public relations, communications, and supervision.
  • I have experience in organizational and community development.
  • I have a knowledge and understanding of the YMCA culture and mission.
  • I work effectively with all ages and diverse populations.
  • I am excited to assist the staff leadership team in reaching annual campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
