The YMCA of Greater Syracuse is searching for a qualified Executive Assistant to support the efforts of our President/CEO.


Under the direction of the President/CEO, the Board Chair and assigned executive staff, the Executive Assistant assists staff by providing secretarial and high-level administrative support involving the use of discretion and independent judgment.  The Executive Assistant’s primary support will be to the office of the President/CEO.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Maintain President/CEO's calendar and schedules • Provide order and ensure organization to align projects and initiate tasks • Compose reports, spreadsheets, presentations and other correspondence • Provide a bridge for smooth communications that facilitate the President/CEO’s ability to effectively lead the association  •  Coordinate and implement special projects • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality •  Take minutes for Board meetings • Arrange travel and compile documents for travel-related meetings • Screen calls and address as appropriate • Coordinate internal and external meetings.

Skills/Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree with three years’ experience as an assistant to high level executives, preferably in a not-for-profit setting •  Proficient in all standard business software • Proven team player having excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks • Self-motivated and capable of managing workload • Ability to work under deadline pressures • Proven to work professionally, cooperatively, effectively and with integrity.
