As the branch marketing and communications director you will work as part of the association marketing and communications team and branch leadership team. You will be responsible for leading member marketing, public relations, and community outreach to support the leadership team in attracting and retaining members and positioning the YMCA as a cause-driven organization.
Areas of Responsibility:
Make great decisions:
- Develop, implement, and manage the branch and association strategic marketing plan through internal member marketing and external communications and outreach.
- Lead affiliated marketing and corporate membership sales.
- Develop, implement, and manage external communications and outreach strategy in collaboration with association communications department.
Provide quality results:
- Maintain communication and marketing standards by creating and editing all electronic and print marketing materials, including website, e-marketing, social media, flyers, brochures, etc.
- Generate press releases and respond to media inquiries for surrounding community.
- Meet performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
Collaborate:
- Coordinate with program staff to market and distribute program information.
- Assist branch staff with administration and coordination of annual branch special events.
- Coordinate awareness tours for Annual Campaign and community outreach.
Build Relationships:
- Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
- Oversee all donor communications in collaboration with association Financial Development Department.
- Develop relationships with internal/external members to secure and support branch financial development success.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
This position should have a track record of leading staff and departments to achieve set goals.
- I have knowledge of the latest marketing and communications technologies, including standard office software, web-based applications, and social media.
- I have strong writing and editing abilities.
- I am highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple competing deadlines and projects.
- I have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $18.14
