The Wade Walker Park Family YMCA is seeking a passionate and forward thinking executive director with a proven, successful track record of developing a strong branch board, increasing annual giving, engaging community through increasing membership and programs while advancing the Y’s impact in the community. Developed in partnership with Dekalb County, the Wade Walker Park Family YMCA, the newest branch in the Metro Atlanta Association, has an exceptional opportunity for impact in a suburban Atlanta community of diverse needs and great potential.
This highly motivated leader who is impact focused and entrepreneurial by nature will report directly to the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA’s group vice president and will have primary responsibility for the branch’s day-to-day operations. Experience in and a demonstrated track record of the areas of staff supervision, membership and program development, fiscal management, fundraising, volunteer cultivation, and community engagement are required. The continued development and coaching of an experienced staff team to new levels of service will be key to achieving full potential. Budget accountability is $2,000,000, including a developing annual campaign of $50,000.
This person will be directly accountable for operating a 59,000 square foot Y facitlity, all its membership and healthy living programs, on and off-site sports and day camp programs, advanced leadership programs for teens, and all community engagement and volunteer programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience directly related to growing philanthropy and cultivating volunteers; and exhibits the skills required to further expand the Y’s reach into the community through the development and fostering of partnerships and collaborations with both private and public sectors.
- Establish a culture of quality and service in an effort to meet and exceed the goals and objectives set forth in the strategic plan and standards established by the Board of Directors.
- Models the behavioral values established by the Association and will have a passion and enthusiasm for the mission of the Y.
- Cultivates meaningful community collaborations.
- Develops, manages and monitors operating budget to meet or exceed targets.
- Provides metrics to measure program/membership impact, staff, and program and membership satisfaction.
- Participates in branch and Association-wide activities and initiatives.
- Mentors, coaches and develops branch staff.
- Acts as the LEAD campaigner for Why It Matters Annual Giving Campaign including but not limited to: volunteer recruitment, training and support and lead as an integral member of the management team committed to reaching stated fund raising goals
- Serve on a Metro Membership Cabinet, liaison with appropriate professional groups in the community and serve on Metro Task Forces as assigned.
- Provide staff leadership to key program committees as determined by Executive Director.
- Manage delivery of related programs to exceed YMCA standards and program objectives.
- Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Multi Media First Aid, Blood-borne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta YMCA new staff orientation, branch orientation and branch emergency procedures
- Leads the strategic positioning of the branch to meet the goals of the Metro-wide strategic plan.
- Minimum of 8 or more years overall leadership experience with at least 5 years of successful experience managing large teams in an executive level/senior management position
- Hands on experience working with a diverse population in a YMCA strongly preferred
