This is a grant funded position primarily home based with periodic travel throughout the State of Florida.
This position will oversee the development and execution of the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs Foundation YMCA Reads! program and other education initiatives in conjunction with the strategic plan.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Administer the YMCA Reads! program statewide in conjunction with local Ys.
- Comply with Florida Department of Education grant requirements including timely application, reporting and financial management. This includes working with Fiscal Agent to ensure that expenditures are received from sub-grantees and support programmatic goals.
- Write yearly Department of Education grant including yearly budget plan and financial reporting schedule.
- Manage Sub-Grants with YMCAs participating in the YMCA Reads! Program. This includes providing technical assistance to sites.
- Oversees timely and accurate input of data into the YMCA online data management system.
- Works with Ounce of Prevention of Florida, iReady and other designated agency to ensure third party assessment is produced and distributed yearly to the Department of Education and the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs.
- Master the Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words (SIPPS) curriculum and correction routines to be able to train site coordinators and volunteers
- Conduct quarterly trainings in literacy in most needed areas for site coordinators and staff involved in program delivery.
- Conduct site visits to support, train, and provide constructive feedback for the improvement of literacy instruction, volunteer training, organization, and overall program improvement.
- Maintains client and staff confidentiality.
- Maintains compliance with applicable standards for record keeping and reporting.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field, Master’s Degree preferred with an endorsement or degree in Reading
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing mentoring or school-age enrichment programs. Literacy programs preferred.
- Experience with financial development, grant management, public relations, and school systems.
- Ability to work independently and utilize initiative.
- Ability to monitor outcomes and identify programs in need of assistance.
- Ability to deliver constructive feedback to achieve desired outcome.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with curriculum development and training.
- Familiarity with Video Conferencing technology, Windows and Google platforms including Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Google Forms.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00
