The Data Analyst oversees and coordinates all data management needs for all YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg programs. This position is responsible for the measurement, collection, aggregation, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and reporting of data to provide Senior Leadership necessary or requested information needed to drive performance.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Analyze internal and external data sources to transform the data and information into actionable knowledge for the organization, providing critical market intelligence to our leadership team.
  • Collects, analyzes and interprets data using modern and traditional methods.
  • Identifies new data sources that will maximize analytic capabilities for the association.
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify, define and solve various data problems and support various initiatives.
  • Responsible for the completion of all internal and external data requests. 
  • Maintains and coordinates database programs which supply management reports. 
  • Assist with special projects and publication of reports. These projects may require detailed technical knowledge of data manipulation and conversion through several different applications. Convert and format data for presentation purposes, including developing graphs and charts, or PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Provide training, technical assistance and expertise through development of reports and data interpretation. 
  • Develop dashboards/metric reports and conduct daily data analysis to measure effectiveness of data within association.
  • Escalate data quality issues and help identify solutions to correct problems.
  • Perform audits of data upon entry as well as review incoming requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate flow of information between all departments responsible for data elements.
  • Verifies validity of reported assessments and analyzes raw data to present it as a measured outcome.
  • Works with various program sites to ensure required data is collected and entered in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes Google Forms, Google Spreadsheets, and Excel to collect, verify, and report specific data for grants.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, finance or accounting or Associates Degree with 3+ years related experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years in data analysis experience required; Qualitative and quantitative intelligence analysis in the business (financial) or technology industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in statistics, data analysis, and management; ability to develop databases, queries, reports (utilizing SSRS) and program applications.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to function in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a team supporting administrative and communication needs. 
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Passion for research and exploration and ability to acquire data from multiple resources.
  • Excellent reasoning and strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy and sharing results in a non-analytical format.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Extremely proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with Advanced Excel skills.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $18.00 - $23.00
