The Executive Director of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society (MSHS) has overall responsibility for the operation, growth and success of MSHS. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors and leads a team of 8-9 individuals. It is a very successful organization with a long history of successful leadership with norther gardeners. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Executive Director will have overall responsibility for all aspects of MSHS including fundraising, program development and implementation, membership, finance and accounting, human resources and internal and external relations/communications.

Educational Background: 
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 

A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience with at least 4-5 years of supervisory and/or management experience and 4-6 years of non-profit experience. Must be able to provide leadership to the staff, the board of directors and members. Must have a proven track record of successfully leading and/or participating in development activities for non-profits as well as strategic and innovative leadership. Proven skills in external relations will be necessary. The successful candidate must be a disciplined and well-organized individual with the ability to convey ideas and strategies efficiently and effectively to a wide array of audiences.
