Under the direction of the Finance Regional Director and guidance of the Accounting Managers, the Staff Accountants will work with the other Accounting staff in the region to provide financial support to the chapters within the region.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Enter deposits/process feed files from Team Approach 
  • Prepare Request for Payment forms as needed, ensure all documentation is obtained (W-9, new vendor form, payment support) and process payment requests
  • Serve as liaison between chapters and the AP Department
  • Follow-up with donors for returned checks
  • Serve as point of contact for suspect credit card transactions and charge backs
  • Follow up on third party deposit processor rejected items
  • Prepare monthly journal entries including: Insite orders, revenue correction entries, recognition of deferred revenues and prepaid expenses
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for Statement of Financial Position Accounts including; Deposits, Prepaid Expenses, Deferred Revenue
  • Reconcile third party deposit processor reports to chapter records
  • Reconcile chapter petty cash accounts
  • Ensure substantiation of Restrictions on donations
  • Book accounts receivable and pledge receivables
  • Coordinate with chapter development staff to reconcile accounting records to chapter event revenue records
  • Provide Aid to Event staff in Expense management
  • Reconcile donor databases to accounting systems.
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree accounting and/or finance or equivalent work experience in Not-for-Profit Accounting or business management
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstration of written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Google platform, experience with SAGE 500 or other automated accounting reporting systems (BI360 et al) preferred
  • Ability to problem solve effectively
  • Strong organization skills with the ability handle multiple assignments and tasks
  • Ability to work effectively with a team or independently
