The Chesterfield Family YMCA is seeking an energetic and motivated candidate to fill the position of Maintenance Technician.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs routine recurring and non-recurring functions related to the House Department in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of the Association and the Branch.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing
    preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
  • Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
  • Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  • Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
  • Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma or GED
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two to Three years’ experience with maintenance and housekeeping is desired.
  • Must be familiar with and/or be able to learn how to make repairs to facilities, grounds and equipment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

  • The work is performed both indoors and out, and may require travel to various locations.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $24,000.00
