Under the direction of the Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs routine recurring and non-recurring functions related to the House Department in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of the Association and the Branch. Maintenance Technician will supervise housekeeping staff in the absence of Property Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor.
Areas of Responsibility:
- raining and/or certification in building systems repair, maintenance and housekeeping is desired. Must be familiar with and/or be able to learn how to make repairs to facilities, grounds and equipment. Must have valid drivers license.
- Special skills, Licenses, Certifications or Equipment: CPO or POL, HVAC certification required
- Must present a positive can do attitude, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be able to complete all jobs assigned in a timely manner.
- Must be willing and able to work nights and or weekends.
- Must be trustworthy.
- Must be physically able to use such tools as carpet extractors, buffers, wrenches, screwdrivers, power tools and the like.
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to climb ladders up to 30ft and able to use scaffolding.
- Must be able to evaluate situations and make decisions within established policies and standards.
- Must be able to learn and articulate the Mission of the YMCA.
- Must be willing to work as part of a team, for overall success.
- Must be willing to interact with the members.
- Must be able to communicate respectfully and effectively with superiors and co-workers.
