The Gateway Region YMCA is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Human Resources Administrator.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Human Resources Generalist oversees the daily HR operations for an assigned district.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Assists with talent acquisition tasks including job postings, applicant tracking and requisition maintenance.
  • Assists branch with new hire process: process new hire paperwork, onboarding, etc.
  • Processes all personnel change forms and maintains employee personnel files.
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
  • Facilitates or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee referral program.
  • Works with supervisors to troubleshoot daily HR/Payroll issues and escalates problems to appropriate leadership when needed.
  • Ensures compliance with SOPs for self and assigned district.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Coordinator, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing, and organization
  • Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and HRIS system)
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
