The Gateway Region YMCA is looking for a motivated candidate to fill the role of Group Sales Manager.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the Group Sales Team Leader contributes to the overall goals and objectives of the YMCA of the Ozarks by insuring the all Trout Lodge group reservation needs are met with exemplary customer service.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as the primary contact for all new group inquires, group tour requests, contracts, and returning group contracts.
  • Schedule personal sales calls, respond to leads and make presentations to prospective groups.
  • Devise and implement sales strategies to meet the revenue goal, and control budget. Develop, drive, and monitor initiatives to achieve sales targets and objectives set for the department.
  • Achieve departmental and personal sales quotas by rebooking, prospecting leads, and maximizing networking opportunities through existing reservations/contacts.
  • Accurately project Trout Lodge group-generated revenue, and providing updates and adjustments at the weekly directors’ meeting.
  • Manage and report weekly team member sales performance to Sales team management.
  • Provide onsite tours and closing sales with prospective group leaders.
  • Assign and monitor contracted groups and arrangements to applicable reservationist and make sure all group needs are met through exemplary service.
  • Responsible for managing completion and accuracy of team’s data entry into the Megasys Reservation System, completing service request forms, work orders, billing, etc. and maintain complete group reservation files and client files.
  • Confirm all departmental group contracts, deposits, guaranteed number letters, and activity reservations are requested and received in a timely and organized manner.
  • Track and report incoming call, pending contracts, and signed contract totals for department to Sales team management on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for training and managing team performance on all departmental functions as required.
  • Schedule, supervise, and report team attendance and payroll as required.
  • Assist with offsite events and/or other departmental needs as requested.
  • Serve as Sales Team and Guest Service backup as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma or GED, Bachelors degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2 years of sales experience
  • Proficient in G-Mail, standard office equipment and computers, Microsoft Word/Excel, and Megasys.
  • Interact well with people of all ages and backgrounds while providing exemplary customer service.
  • Capable of handling high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical Mobility: walking, climbing, stairs, standing, kneeling, bending, leaning, stooping and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Physical Dexterity: ability to use telephone, computer, electronic equipment, exercise equipment, office equipment (fax, copier, stapler, etc.), tools and machinery as needed.
  • Lifting: ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Sensory Requirements: ability to hear, listen, speak, smell, touch, taste, see and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to drive vehicles (golf carts, car, van and/or bus).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% locally and regionally.
  • Must have and maintain valid class E driver’s license with a good record and be able to operate YMCA vehicles in a safe manner
  • Ability to maintain alertness for several hours at a time.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
    Ability to tolerate extreme temperature conditions (heat and/or cold)
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
