As the Director, Instructional Design and Program (D, IDP), you report to the Managing Director of Instructional Leadership and Program (MD ILP) in the St. Louis region. D, IDP operationalizes vision, analyzes and synthesizes data to roll up trends that inform CM learning, and ensures a clear flow of context/trends from the classroom level to the MD, ILP.
You are responsible for leveraging a wide range of resources, including those available from TFA, schools, districts, charter networks, certification partners, and neighborhood resources, as well as your own talents and skills, to facilitate the successful integration of corps members and alumni into their school communities. To accomplish this, you will develop the professional development for our educators to become stronger culturally responsive educators, resulting in meaningful academic and personal growth for their students. You will also take ownership of the hiring strategy by partnering closely with principals, supporting them to hire CMs who will be the best fit for their school. You will also know and engage with the TFA alumni working in schools, leveraging them to support CMs and connecting them to leadership opportunities that contribute to the broader STL regional vision.

Designing and Facilitating Teacher Learning Experiences (40%)
- Design the arcs of learning experiences for corps members for onboarding through the end of their second year, aligned to our regional and team vision; for example, support transitioning from institute to their fall placement
- Designs discrete learning experiences for corps members and alumni educators
- Gathers input by engaging corps members, alumni, school partners, external experts and community partners to inform design
- Facilitates learning experiences for teachers and designs annual scope and sequence for Educator Learning
- Design and execution of quarterly CRL Summits
- Design and execute Racial Identity Development learning experiences for all corps members
- Provide an up-to-date read on corps member knowledge, skill, and mindset development
- Set vision and strategy for CM learning (CRL Summits and Content Teams)
- Management of Content Team/PLC leaders
- Lead planning of TLP (Week 0)
- Support MTLDs in determining trends and needs across the corps.
- Support MD in design and execution of team meetings
- Analyze classroom level impact from MTLD observations and student achievement data (collecting and analyzing classroom level data) to inform the development and design of the instructional leadership team
School Partnerships and Corps Member Hiring (15%)
- Partner with school leaders in their efforts to support, develop and retain their CMs.
- Develop, build, and strengthen the quality of partnerships with schools to align with the STL regional vision so that CMs are positioned to have a greater impact and commit longer to their schools
- Execute hiring, matching, and partnership strategies to ensure that we partner with schools where corps members can have the greatest impact and are hired by the first day of school
Matriculation and Onboarding (15%)
- Design matriculation strategy; train and support members of the regional team to execute the strategies
- Drive assignment smoothing process, in partnership with MD ILP and regional leadership team
- Communicate and collaborate with appropriate national teams: Admissions, Transitional Funding, as well as UMSL
- Design & implement the onboarding experience for corps members, checking in on progress at purposeful intervals
- Sends the matriculation blast to all incoming corps members
- Plan and execute three site visits for incoming corps members
- Execute test prep support with incoming corps members
Alumni Engagement and Support (15%)
- Build relationships with alumni teachers to ensure their ongoing development and connect them to leadership opportunities in service of our regional vision
- Leverage alumni presence in schools to support CMs and build community amongst alumni and CMs, both in schools and in the surrounding neighborhood
- Lead Alumni Educator programming
Instructional Leadership Team (15%)
- Write and manage the execution of Corps Member and Incoming Corps Member blasts (with the Support of the Manager of Leadership and Community and Executive Assistant to the ED)
- Supports the MD, ILP with operationalizing the instructional leadership priorities, team goals, and performance.
- Tracks and manages CM and instructional leadership team data to support the MD, ILP with the overall effectiveness of the programming.
- Commit to planning and executing CM and alumni programming including operations support.
- Collaborate with MD, ILP to confirm, onboard, and support incoming CMs
- Play supporting role in the team and region-wide events
- Contribute to ongoing instructional leadership team meetings and support the MD, ILP with meeting design.
- Participate in all-staff meetings, activities, and events such as selection, confirmation, strategic planning and conferences/summits
- Adhere to all deadlines, action items, and structures to support the work of our regional team
- At least 5+ years of work experience (teaching preferred)
- Experienced and passionate about engaging in conversations around race, class, and privilege across lines of difference
- Deep experience in and holistic understanding of schools and communities
- Prior experience coaching, motivating, and leading adults
