The Gateway Region YMCA has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide focused leadership in the area of membership acquisition. Under the direction of the VP of Membership, the Director of Membership Acquisition is charged with the development of member recruitment and satisfaction. With the “Member Experience” as the foundation of this role, the position is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration of all membership recruitment and sales efforts. Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the guidance of the VP of Membership, this position will be responsible for outlining membership acquisition efforts; defining members’ needs, measuring membership satisfaction and assuring staff effectiveness. The selected candidate will facilitate regular sales training for staff teams, to help drive new membership, program participation, and engagement around strategic initiatives. Promotes program and membership enrollment through staff training in order to engage members through point of sale and onboarding design. Candidate will also ensure that an analytical and performance-measurement perspective is integrated fully into the design, implementation and review of all membership acquisition activities. The successful candidate will need to develop strong relationships with Branch Executives and other key support staff.

Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in building a high performance team, influencing others, teamwork, data analysis, fiscal management, program development, and small group facilitation. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with a proven track-record of exceeding sales targets.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (public relations, communications, marketing and/or recreation)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work-related experience
  • Must possess a mix of relationship-building skills with technical knowledge.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills along with conceptual planning are required.
  • Must be self-directed, innovative and creative person.
