The Gateway Region YMCA has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide strategic leadership in the area of community integrated health. Our overarching goal will be to structure the community health department to meet the emerging opportunities in the region. The key deliverables will be aligning strategies to improve participation, expanding corporate membership, complete Medicare approval and scaling community health programming. Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the guidance of the Executive Vice President and COO, this position will be responsible for growing participation the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Exercise for Parkinson's, Healthy Weight and Your Child, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program and Alzheimer's Association Workshops. The primary responsibility is to find sustainable funding to further community health programming and participation. This includes providing strategic leadership along with developing a high performing team and implementing industry best practices. Emphasis will be placed on previous experience developing a data-driven culture with proven results, revenue growth, engaging executive level staff and the ability to inspire others towards exceeding expectations. The successful candidate will need to develop strong relationships with Branch Executives and other key support staff.

Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in building a high-performance team, leadership development, data analysis, fiscal management, program development, and small group facilitation. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with a proven track record of exceeding participation targets and attracting grant funding.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science, public health or equivalent required
Skills/Experience: 
  • YUSA Multi-Team Leader Status preferred
  • 3 or more years of community health or related experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills
  • Possess a high level of organizational knowledge, experience and proficiency
  • Articulate communication skills relating to membership and branch leadership
  • Ability to successfully lead, recruit and develop staff and volunteers of all levels
  • Possess and demonstrate commitment and passion for mission-centered objectives
  • Master the art of influence and relationship building with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and change capacity
