The Gateway Region YMCA is seeking an energetic and motivated candidate to fill the position of Administrative Assistant.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Administrative Assistant will be responsible for overseeing bookkeeping, maintaining office supplies and maintaining office machines. This position also serves as the all duties must be performed in accordance with policies, procedures and standards established by the corporate office.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Communicate with people at all levels in a positive way.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately on a computer using our software tools.
  • Ability to support management and philosophies of the Gateway Region YMCA.
  • Produce organized accurate and reliable information while meeting deadlines. 
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
High School education or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Three years of experience.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Suite, AS400 experience preferred.
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Good judgment and ability to prioritize and organize workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze data & convert to graphs.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Proof-reading skills.
