The Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter is seeking a motivated, creative, self starter to serve as it's Summer 2018 Marketing and Communications intern. The position will primarily focus on media relations and content development. This is a part time (15-20 hours per week), paid position based in the Chapter's St. Louis office. The start and end dates are flexible, though the desired time frame is mid-May through mid- August.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop compelling content featuring Chapter client families, volunteers, Walk to End Alzheimer's and The Longest Day participants and teams
- Write media pitches, news releases, and social media posts
- Conduct outreach to local media outlets
- Provide general project support to Marketing and Communications team
- Edit and catalog Chapter photos
Educational Background:
Rising junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student in communications, marketing or journalism
Skills/Experience:
- Strong writer with ability to produce clean, concise and creative copy; real-world writing samples a plus
- Experience with developing content for digital and social media
- Solid editing and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Complete work during traditional work day (8am-4pm) with some flexibility to assist on an occasional evening and weekend
