As the Youth Program Director at the Cheshire Branch, you will oversee and lead a variety of youth-related programs. During the school year this position witll beresponsible for the administration of youth programs (sports, karate, etc), supervise and coordinate all Teen programs, and act as a School Age Site Coordinator and provide program support and leadership to the School Age childcare programs. The schedule during the school year is Tuesday - Saturdays. During the Summer,the candidate will be the Director of Camp Quinnipiac which is held at a local school sitewith approximately 120 campers per week. This position is also a key member of the Cheshire Branch leadership team.
- Director of Camp Quinnipiac: Recruit, hire, train, supervise and work with staff to plan and develop a successful Camp program. Plan and implement activities, trips and special events for camp. Prepare all camp related information and promotion before and during the camp season. Work with the Director of Membership Services to ensure a smooth registration process is in place. Keep camp well maintained and safe and comply with the standards set by the State of Connecticut licensing. Develop and monitor the camp budget and be responsible for all related finances of the camp program. Responsible for all aspects of camp transportation and off-site facility use (pool use). Work in conjunction with the Board of Education and school-related staff to coordinate yearly facility use and assignments
- Supervision of youth programs: Responsible for the administration of youth programs (sports, karate, etc.). Duties will include program development and evaluation, staff hiring, training and supervision. Responsible for program promotion, budget development, monitoring, and volunteer recruitment and training
- Supervise and coordinate all Teen programs. Develop diverse programs that will appeal to the needs of teens in our community. Perform all related administrative duties related to this program area. Programs will include but not limited to Leaders Club (Dodd & High School) and community service projects.
- Act as a School Age Site Coordinator and provide program support and leadership to the School-age childcare programs during the school year to include but not limited to general program supervision and staff development.
- Provide leadership to promote the Annual Support Campaign. Work with the Branch Executive Director in “Friend” and fundraising efforts to support teen and camp programs
- Complete all strategic plan objectives as agreed upon
YMCA program background, express excellent communication/presentation skills, have strong problem-solving skills, show superior judgment, and have 2-3 years of program management experience in childcare, camp, youth sports andteen programs. They must also be at least 21 years of age.
