Camp Grounds & Maintenance Supervisor-Onsite Living

To further the mission of the YMCA through promoting the safety of our guest, participants, and staff by ensuring that the facility and the grounds are clean and in working order.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Proficiency and experience in the safe and proper use of power equipment and tools, heavy and light machinery, and building materials. 
  • Operate necessary grounds care equipment such as mower, tractor, chainsaw, etc. I a safe manner.
  • Be aware and make necessary changes to hazards found on campgrounds by completing monthly inspections of the campground.
  • Proactive in the repair of buildings and facilities and repairs as needed using work orders and assigning staff duties.
  • Perform janitorial and general maintenance duties on a daily basis.
  • Show efficiency in handling maintenance complaints through proper communication.
  • Maintain records of procedures performed on building parts and logging new part replacement or equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of grounds keeping by being proactive in outdoor areas of facilities. 
  • Perform scheduled building, fire and code enforcement inspections.
  • Able to communicate to others how the YMCA supports kids, adults, and families in the community.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 or more years of experience in the following areas: supervision for hiring, training, and scheduling of staff, facility and site management, maintenance, construction, and land management.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, grounds maintenance.
