Areas of Responsibility: 

Create and manage programs:

  • Direct and supervise program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expand youth sports programs within the branch and community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Manage and implement the approved program budget.
  • Compile program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in all programs.
  • Secure and schedule athletic fields and facilities. Transport and set up equipment for games and practices.
  • Organize and conduct parent orientation meetings, and training and meetings for coaches.
  • Organize and conduct sports clinics.

Provide quality results: 

  • Administer program evaluations of all classes and leagues.
  • Develop and assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, and organize and schedule program registrations. 
  • Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program.
  • Track hourly usage to ensure the department has enough staff for safety.
  • Meet performance measurements in annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.

Collaborate:

  • Develop relationships with local school districts and community leaders to ensure available programming space and facilities, and to assist in sponsoring youth programs/events.
  • Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Work in collaboration with senior management to review and evaluate staff performance.

Build Relationships: 

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed. 
  • Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Support development and implementation of program specific volunteer training program. Assist staff in identifying productive and creative volunteer roles. 
  • Review, approve, and submit staff time cards to payroll department per schedule.
  • Track volunteer hours and record appropriately.
  • Schedule shifts and process time off request forms for staff.
  • Provide all departmental staff with professional development.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training is scheduled and funded.
  • I have a Bachelor’s degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience.
  • I have experience in supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development.
  • I have experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • I have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
  • I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED,  First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
Educational Background: 
I have a Bachelor’s degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • I have experience in supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development.
  • I have experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $18.27
