The Human Resources Officer is expected to assist in the management all aspects of the International Division’s human resources, both in Silver Spring and supporting various country offices where MCDI operates. The HR officer works closely with and under the direct supervision of the Director, Human Resources.
 

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Educational Background: 
• A Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related field required.
Skills/Experience: 

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • At least 4 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role (experience in recruitment, benefits, HR policies and procedures, performance management, etc).
  • Previously experience working with an international NGO a plus.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws, understanding of HR best practices.
  • Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Have high energy, clear goal orientation and strong work ethic.
  • Have strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be open to others’ ideas and be objective
  • Be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands
  • Proven track record as an effective team member
