Seeking a motivated and self-confident individual with aquatics experience and passion.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director and the Associate Executive Director, the Aquatics Program Director is responsible for the organization, delivery and quality of YMCA program(s) to the membership, program participants and community.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The Aquatics Director is expected to fulfill the following functions:
  • Manage Adult aquatics programs/instructors.
  • Manage Youth and adult swim lessons.
  • Aquatic facility oversite with a maintenance and cleaning routine
  • Safety and risk management committee member.
  • Conduct regular staff in-services and trainings.
  • Oversite of facility locker rooms.
  • Lifeguard hiring, training and scheduling
  • Assist with training CPR and 1st Aid for staff
  • Build/maintain community relationships and partnerships opportunities with the new AQ center.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or have experience in related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Alarm/Emergency Procedures training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
  • CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire and biannually thereafter.
  • New Employee Orientation and Listen 1st or other alternative training within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills for program development, management and appraisal.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work through situations of varying gravity.
  • Obtain CPO, Lifeguard Instructor or Instructor Trainer within 1 year of hire.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $34,000.00 - $36,000.00
