Provides executive-level leadership for the association’s Aquatics strategy and programs.
The Aquatic Program Executive will develop, recommend and administer the aquatic budget, ensure all established policies are carried out and that programs and activities are conducted in a professional and safe manner. This position will advise the Association regarding aquatic trends, policy/procedural changes, and implement safety checks as coordinated with risk management. This position will help with the coordination of all designated aquatic trainings ensuring the Association adequate staff resources to deliver on our mission.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops Aquatics programming strategy and organizational aspirations for the Aquatics in the Association, including all kids having access to swim lessons.
- Develops and implements systems, standard operating procedures, and tactics to advance the aquatic strategy and organizational aspirations for the aquatics department.
- Develops and implements and pioneers an association-wide aquatics training and development practices, systems and tactics.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts to increase member satisfaction and impact scores.
- Develops and implements aquatic measuring tools in support of key performance indicators, with an emphasis on relationships, belonging, and achievement.
- Designs, implements and ensures best practices for hiring, training, onboarding, and coaching aquatic staff of all levels throughout the association.
- Supports successful implementation of the LMS for aquatics staff; and ensure YGS compliance with training requirements for staff.
- Develops and implements strategy to increase the percentage of member donors.
- Provides support and association-level leadership to branch aquatic directors. Supports branch leadership in the assessment, evaluation, and coaching of branch aquatic staff.
- Provides support for committees and task forces as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreations, health, social work, or a closely related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Eight + years of program experience, including pool management and Aquatic best practice including large pool, waterpark and waterfront open water.
- Five + years of experience managing complex Aquatics sites and facilities.
- Ten years of demonstrated progressive leadership skills.
- Instructor level training for CPR/First Aide, Swim Lessons and Lifeguard training. Preferably YUSA. Or ability to obtain YUSA certifications.
- Knowledge and understanding of swim team functions with in an organizational setting.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
- Understanding of local and state regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies.
