IT Support Assistant

Working 15 hours/week, the IT Support Assistant will perform critical IT tasks, including:

  • Audio visual and conference room technology maintenance and troubleshooting; collaborate with vendors to reach resolution if necessary.
  • Participate in the communication and deployment of new technology and provide training and onboarding to staff.
  • Assist users to resolve support issues related to connectivity, performance, and application access
  • Set up new PC computers with required software, network access, and security
  • Work with vendors regarding internet service, back-ups, phones, modem/router issues as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Does not supervise any staff, but may help plan and direct the work of volunteers or interns;
  • Duties are performed according to instructions or established practices; supervisor will resolve any problems or questions;
  • Maintain limited financial responsibility, which may include processing invoices or creating travel expense reports;
  • May purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in budget and in consultation with supervisor;
  • May serve as a team member for assigned work teams;
  • Work overtime, as needed; and
  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
Educational Background: 
High school diploma + 1 year experience troubleshooting desktop technology and applications (or equivalent)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience maintaining Audio Visual equipment (TV, webcam, speakers, cables, etc) and MS Office software and Windows.
  • Customer service experience;
  • Experience demonstrating organizational skills & attention to detail, and;
  • Currently enrolled at North Seattle College and eligible for Work Study

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-cultural/cross-cultural experience is appreciated.
  • Experience managing diverse activities to meet deadlines;
  • Familiarity with standard business communications;
