Working 15 hours/week, the IT Support Assistant will perform critical IT tasks, including:
- Audio visual and conference room technology maintenance and troubleshooting; collaborate with vendors to reach resolution if necessary.
- Participate in the communication and deployment of new technology and provide training and onboarding to staff.
- Assist users to resolve support issues related to connectivity, performance, and application access
- Set up new PC computers with required software, network access, and security
- Work with vendors regarding internet service, back-ups, phones, modem/router issues as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Does not supervise any staff, but may help plan and direct the work of volunteers or interns;
- Duties are performed according to instructions or established practices; supervisor will resolve any problems or questions;
- Maintain limited financial responsibility, which may include processing invoices or creating travel expense reports;
- May purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in budget and in consultation with supervisor;
- May serve as a team member for assigned work teams;
- Work overtime, as needed; and
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
Educational Background:
High school diploma + 1 year experience troubleshooting desktop technology and applications (or equivalent)
Skills/Experience:
- Experience maintaining Audio Visual equipment (TV, webcam, speakers, cables, etc) and MS Office software and Windows.
- Customer service experience;
- Experience demonstrating organizational skills & attention to detail, and;
- Currently enrolled at North Seattle College and eligible for Work Study
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Multi-cultural/cross-cultural experience is appreciated.
- Experience managing diverse activities to meet deadlines;
- Familiarity with standard business communications;
