YMCA of Greater Seattle is hiring two Human Resource Generalists for our Association Office.

The Human Resource Generalist, with limited supervision, is responsible for supporting benefits, recruiting, employee relations, HRIS, HR policy implementation, and tactical duties throughout the assigned district. We are looking for a collaborative, communicative, and strategic HR leader who can engage and influence peers while modeling the Y’s core values and supporting the HR department’s core functions.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure proper implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate HR information for all staff.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation sessions for new employees, ensuring an educational and welcoming experience.
  • Under the direction of the HR Director, conduct limited investigations.
  • Provide leadership and support to assigned areas/branches.
  • Develop/implement strategies for staff engagement and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local and federal employment laws.
  • Day-to-day tactical responsibilities (i.e. recruitment, HRIS, employee relations processes)
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, or a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two years or more of relevant Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of employment law.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • HR experience in a childcare, social services, or nonprofit environment.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
