POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Administrator will be responsible for the development, administration and supervision of the 91 licensed capacity Out-of-School Time program based within the Saugus Family YMCA. The Administrator will make a positive impact on the Association and their service community, working to develop not only the program but the OST staff as well.
- Develop and implement STEAM curriculum along with educators, creating a setting that complements the current school trends in academic achievement, enhancements and youth development.
- Facilitate staff development, including recruitment, team building, training, evaluation, recognition, termination, etc.
- Ensure compliance and maintenance of all materials and programming as required by the Department of Education and Care.
- Collaborate with school district and personnel to achieve positive relationships in order to foster a collaborative working environment. Serve as liaison between the YMCA Out-of-School Time program and the school departments. Create and maintain partnerships with each principal.
- Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate relationships with area organizations, community leaders and businesses.
- Keep abreast of the trends and needs in Out-of-School Time and plan for ways to meet those needs.
- Develop a plan for parental involvement in the program to include monthly and quarterly family events.
- Responsible for ensuring the necessary records involving attendance and ensuing sign-in and sign-out sheets are completely and 100% accurate.
- Handle all registration requirements for the programs in conjunction with Billing Manager.
- Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Attends 20 hours of formal professional development per calendar year as dictated by EEC
- Actively participate in Branch or Association fund raising efforts, providing leadership when necessary, assisting a team, recruiting and training volunteers, and working phonations.
- Help in the development of grants to enhance the programs.
- Assist in ongoing recruitment and training efforts to facilitate volunteer involvement on committees and in programs utilizing high schools and college volunteers and internships, parents, and other community resources.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or related field. Preferred candidate has significant experience (4 plus years) supervising Out-of-School Time programs, camp and/or summer learning programs. Experience with QRIS (Quality Rating Improvement System) and related measurement tools. Experience with incorporating STEAM and Common Core State Standards in Out-of-School Time activities.
