Saratoga Regional YMCA is an extremely robust and rapidly growing $15 million mid-major YMCA, with five branches and over 28,000 members. We are located in beautiful upstate New York and are looking to fill our Saratoga Springs Branch (12,000+ members and $7 million +) Executive Director position as our current Executive Director is moving on to a CEO role at a neighboring YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serves as the Executive Director at the 7 million + Saratoga Springs Branch under the direction of the Vice President, Operations
  • Primary focus of responsibility to include program development and membership advancement via a well-operating branch
  • Leading and developing a strong branch leadership team
  • Implements the Saratoga Springs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan for Saratoga Springs Branch
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with the hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff and volunteers in the Saratoga Springs Branch, while fostering a positive work environment
  • Continually reviews and evaluates key performance measures regarding staff, membership, retention, programs, customer service, fiscal operations, facilities planning, and community engagement to ensure improvements in each area. Involves the appropriate people, develops and executes corrective action
  • Supports and drives membership acquisition and engagement strategies utilizing Daxco Engage and our new ePT program
  • Promotes the SRYMCA’s mission in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations & businesses
  • Identifies potential areas for branch cooperative programming to accomplish YMCA goals, and works with staff groups to develop and implement programs
  • Responsible for ensuring risk management compliance
  • Serves as the primary communication conduit between the branch and the association office as a member of our Association Leadership Team.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5+ years of related experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • YMCA experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of successful leadership/supervisory experience managing outstanding teams and running a branch
  • Experience with the budgetary responsibility of $2 million or higher
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, member and program growth
  • Leadership in branch operations/facility management required
  • Experience in staff development
  • Experience and knowledge of program planning in the areas of aquatics, fitness, early learning and youth development, youth sports, day camp and outdoor/recreation
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and possess a passion for member service
  • Demonstrated achievement in building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
  • Strong collaborator with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking skills
Compensation/Benefits: 

The SRYMCA offers competitive benefits to all full-time staff including:

Salary: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
