This position supports the work of the SRYMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role oversees the total operation of a YMCA branch,program & membership, property management, staff and volunteer development, fundraising, community relations, and collaborations/partnerships.

Saratoga Regional YMCA is a mid-major YMCA, five branches and over a total of 28,000 members. As one of the larger sized Y branches in the country at 103,000 square feet this is a programmers paradise featuring: eight indoor air conditioned tennis courts, 11,000 square foot turf Field House, Competitive Gymnastics Center that houses sixty eight team members who compete nationally through level nine , Warm Yoga Room, an Athletic Training Center providing semi-private personal training space and member accessible functional training space in addition to a Gymnasium, large Fitness Center, Spin Room, Rowing Room and Preschool class rooms. The Wilton Branch serves 8,500 members who visit 20,000 times per month and with an annual budget size of $4.5 million.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Implement best-practice strategies to gain/maintain competitive advantages, increase membership and program participation, reduce costs, and increase efficiency and quality through the use of benchmarking, forecasting, weekly dashboards, and other performance monitoring techniques
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the branch
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with the hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff and volunteers, while fostering a positive work environment
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets
  • Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to communicate the benefit to the community effectively.
  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred
  • Experience with the budgetary responsibility of $1.5 million or higher, preferred.
  • A proven track record of fiscal and/or program fiscal responsibility and sound financial management skills.
  • Proven ability to have initiative, sound judgment and ability to make decisions independently.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments 
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
