This position serves as a key member of senior staff and works with other leaders in developing and executing strategies that enable the Sarasota Family YMCA to strengthen aspects of all youth development programing which include:  babysitting services, school age child-care, and summer program initiatives including all camps.  

The Executive Director Youth development provides child care throughout the Association ensuring all YMCA youth programs meet all requirements and standards.

This position is responsible for maintaining and nurturing community relationships to ensure funded programs are operating efficiently and outcome measurements are being met.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develops, manages and controls program budgets
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
  • Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
  • develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve program goals
Skills/Experience: 
  • This position requires a minimum of 5-7 years successful experience in the youth development and child care field.
  • This experience should include demonstrated successful experience, knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of child care programs in a leadership position.
  • Strong teamwork and communication is required.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary education or related field necessary.
  • Ensures a high level of service, champions inclusion
