The Corporate Coordinator assists in the implementation of tactics for the ongoing cultivation of donors. The Coordinator supports ongoing opportunities for contact with past and current donors.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Corporate Coordinator will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the Corporate segment by developing and implementing tactics for approved plans and completing and/or overseeing day-to-day tasks. They will interpret guidelines and analyze factual information to support the identification and qualification of donors and develop proposals with the support of other team members. The Coordinator must have advanced knowledge of the processes, systems and resources utilized for fundraising. The Coordinator will keep up-to-date on market trends and best practices in order to improve services. The Coordinator works in close cooperation with any or all of the following: Corporate Director of Development, Corporate Associate Director, Conservation staff, donors, volunteers, vendors, financial institutions, and legal & accounting professionals. S/he will be responsible for good data hygiene, ensuring that data required for reporting is accurate and up-to-date.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Responsible for supporting the team to ensure in-person or virtual meetings to qualify donors and develop proposals, enabling the region’s annual average fundraising goal of $25M USD to be met.
  • Support development of proposals covering donor philanthropy, Cause-Related Marketing and Fee for Service interactions with donors
  • Act independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems
  • Coordinate proposals and activities with several variables, diverse stakeholders in multiple countries, set realistic deadlines, and manage a timeline.
  • Ensure that the correct stakeholders are engaged at the correct times to ensure programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
  • Financial responsibility includes working within a budget, and negotiating with donors
  • May participate in complex negotiations.
  • May supervise administrative, professional and/or volunteer staff, responsibility includes training and professional development.
  • Travel occasionally, work long and flexible hours as needed.
  • Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.
  • Work within scope of program’s strategic goals.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience building relationships with staff, customers or similar.
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting the data.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience working across teams/departments.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles & practices.
  • Fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Previous experience in fundraising and specifically development of proposals within an international team.
  • Coursework, or other training in principles and practices of fundraising
  • Ability to determine an individual’s interests, capacity and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and act appropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancy’s work.
  • Ability to implement individualized cultivation, solicitation and recognition plans.
  • Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.
  • Direct fundraising related experience.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience with database administration and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field.
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
