The Data Quality Specialist will work as part of the development operations team for the Latin America Region.  The team will be responsible for providing resources such as research, gift processing, prospect tracking, stewardship, etc.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Data Quality Specialist will be responsible for various activities, including assisting donors with asset transfer, processing and recording gifts, and performing periodic pledge reviews.  S/he will use the available fundraising management system, as well as other data sources, to produce monthly fundraising and activity reports, perform analysis, and track donor/agency performance, segment/channel performance, and fundraiser performance.  S/he will provide other staff with information they need to make decisions and solve problems.  They may provide program information to prospects and donors, assist with writing development publications and proposals, and donor research.  The Data Quality Specialist may also support the Individual Fundraising Associate Director in the development and management of the Face to Face membership program through an agency model.  S/he will apply established processes and practices in order to improve effectiveness in Development.  The Data Quality Specialist will have substantial contact with staff, donors, legal and financial professionals. S/he will also perform administrative functions as required. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Will be responsible for interacting directly with individual TNC donors, but will refer difficult questions and unusual problems to supervisor.
  • May interact directly with an external Face to Face Membership agency, including handling membership cancellations and queries
  • Does not supervise any staff, but may supervise volunteers, interns, or temporary staff.
  • Duties are performed under general supervision, and established guidelines
  • Financial responsibility may include working within a budget, purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors and external Face to Face Fundraising agencies, and assisting with budget tracking.
  • Serve as a team member for assigned projects.
Educational Background: 
 Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building relationships with staff, customers or similar.
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting data.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience working across teams.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with databases and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks.
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
  • Fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to analyze information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities, and solving problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience in managing third-party agencies or vendors
  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field.
