We are looking for a rockstar individual to join our Aquatics Department. The full-time Aquatics Coordinator assists the Aquatics Director in assuring the program quality and content of swim lessons, and quality of lifeguarding staff. They assist the Aquatics Director in the planning, development and implementation of the program, schedule, and communication with parents and members.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assists in ensuring the quality and consistency of the aquatics program.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean pool and surrounding areas.
  • Gather staff availability and complete and publish staff schedules
  • Communicate effectively with branch staff and program participants; building overall rapport.
  • Contribute to growth and development of Aquatics Department.
  • Complete administrative tasks -- gathering data, completing paperwork, filing
  • Ability to respond to emergencies
  • Ensure adherence to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Assist aquatics director with meeting campaign goals; make asks, raise awareness about campaign, and coordinate and plan events as necessary
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Fun, Energetic, Outgoing
  • Ability to interact with staff, participants, and parents
  • Preferred 1 year aquatics experience at a YMCA or similar organization
  • Available on weekend and evenings as needed.
  • Currently certified in CPR/AED and first aid, or be certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Certified YMCA Lifeguard (v6) and YMCA Swim Instructor (v6), or be certified within 30 days of hire and work towards trainer level.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural communities is preferred.
