Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director provides cause-driven leadership and coaching/development support to program directors. This position is primarily responsible for branch operations including: health & wellness, aquatics, facilities, sports, camp, after school programs, child care and youth development/civic engagement. This position serves as staff support to various volunteer committees of the board of managers and as a team member for various groups at the association level.
- Work in partnership with the Senior Executive Director to create and implement an operational plan in service to the YMCA of SF 2020 - 2025 Vision.
- Direct and manage internal operations, to include membership, health & wellness, aquatics, and youth development departments. Work with all department and program leads to create and deliver innovative programs and services.
- Develop and direct high-quality member engagement strategies and programs to both retain and grow membership.
- Create and manage annual operating budget in conjunction with the Senior Executive Director.
- Develop staff to reach their full potential as cause driven leaders through the use of the leadership competency model and individual staff development plans.
- Play key leadership role in community phase of the annual fundraising campaign and special fundraising events.
- Support a culture of philanthropy for board, staff, members and volunteers.
- Ensure the maintenance of our facilities to ensure a high standard of safety, organization, attractiveness, and cleanliness.
- Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting and risk management.
- Maintain professional image and manner consistent with YMCA mission and goals; Represent the branch in a professional manner at community meetings and public forums.
- Remain current in required and voluntary training in order to promote growth of mind, body and spirit.
- Minimum 21 years old
- Five or more years of professional supervisory experience required
- Ability to direct assigned operations including supervision/development of staff, volunteer development, member engagement, and program development/management

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Five+ years professional YMCA experience; previous experience leading health, well-being and aquatics programs/services
- YMCA Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification
Salary: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00
