The Bay Area is one wealthiest regions in the world, and yet schools are routinely lacking the requisite resources to effectively serve our community’s most underserved students. As the Manager of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships at Teach for America Bay Area, you will build meaningful relationships to bridge the divide between the worlds of wealth and poverty, creating powerful champions for kids who are often unseen. Through storytelling, engagement opportunities, and relationship building, you will raise approximately $1M in support of Teach For America Bay Area’s mission that one day, all children will access an excellent education.
- You prioritize relationships. You believe that strong, authentic relationships are critical to build meaningful experiences for current and potential supporters. You seek to discover the motivations of people and tailor your messages, actions and interactions accordingly. You naturally notice connections among people (donors, teachers, partners, teammates) and feel joy when you can leverage those connections to grow a person’s commitment to our mission.
- You are a clear, compelling communicator. Every word matters to you. You listen closely when others communicate, and respond with confidence and conviction. You are comfortable using your voice to advocate for others. You are a clear, concise writer, building the understanding of others through your written product, no matter the character limit.
- You are highly organized and deadline-driven. You manage your long-term projects and short-term tasks with care and attention, leaving no detail unattended. You understand how your daily actions align with your longer-term ambitious goals and can balance between the two, regardless of the day-to-day chaos in which you might find yourself. You take personal responsibility for the quality of your work and hold yourself to an exceptionally high bar.
- You use every experience to learn, grow, and improve. No matter what the day throws at you, you adjust course and view each experience as an opportunity to learn and improve. You see feedback as a gift and proactively solicit others opinions and perspectives. You are eager to implement feedback as part of your personal and professional journey.
