The Management Consulting Program Managerwill oversee pro-bono management consulting services. This Program Manager will drive a successful relationship with Bain & Company, Inc., and scale it for maximum impact by: (1) sourcing strategic consulting projects throughout the Conservancy, (2) developing precise and appropriate scopes of work for each project, and (3) measuring the impact of these consulting services for TNC and Bain& Company, Inc.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Management Consulting Program Manager supports global strategy leadership by managing a key relationship with Bain & Company, Inc., and identifying priority projects. The Program Manager serves as a key liaison and informational contact between global strategy teams, other TNC staff, and Bain teams. They identify and recommend cases for Bain teams to consult, advise TNC teams to ensure cases stay on track, and adapt as necessary to meet organizational conservation goals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Manages key strategic relationships with management consulting partners
  • Prioritizes initiatives for consulting support within TNC’s global organization, quantitatively evaluating projects with greatest impact potential
  • Collaborates with consulting partners to design scopes of work for consulting engagements that maximize impact within the bounds of TNC and partner capacity
  • Develops recommendations, reports, presentations and assessments on topics related to global strategies and opportunities for pro-bono management consulting services.     
  • Advises teams across the organization; will require gaining cooperation of team members across multiple geographies over whom there is no direct supervisory authority. 
  • Conducts research and analysis.
  • May supervise externs and interns. 
  • Works within a budget to complete projects, negotiates and contracts with vendors and assists with budget development.
  • May involve domestic and international travel, up to 25%.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in research, critical analysis, and evaluating information from divergent sources and compiling it into cohesive reports.
  • Experience writing and editing in a business setting material.
  • Experience presenting to and/or communicating with business leaders, program leadership and/or similar audiences.
  • Experience with time management.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Master of Business Administration.
  • Critical analytical thinking and excellent English writing skills are essential.
  • Deep knowledge of, and fluency in management consulting
  • Ability to sensitively advise other staff on how to effectively engage with internal and external parties. 
  • Ability to develop and drive new ideas and approaches.
  • Ability to work well in a highly matrixed, decentralized and collaborative organization.   Possesses strong interpersonal skills and political savvy.  Must be a team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time sensitive deadlines.
