Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Healthy Living and Financial Development Director is responsible for managing the Mission YMCA’s Active Older Adults and Group Exercise Programs, its budget and staff. This includes managing, training, maintaining, developing and evaluating programs and staff. The Healthy Living and Financial Development Director regularly evaluates programs and membership satisfaction and implements program changes in response to feedback. In addition, the Healthy Living and Financial Development Director is an advocate and resource for health and wellness programming and is motivated to assist Active Older Adults on health and wellness resources.
In addition, the Healthy Living and Financial Development Director is responsible for Mission YMCA’s fundraising efforts such as Annual Giving Campaign, special events, and grants. The position requires interaction with community organizations, donors, outside professionals, volunteers and staff. Fund development includes grant writing, donor records management, donor cultivation and recognition. All functions will be performed to create a highly visible and positive image of the Mission YMCA. This position requires knowledge of YMCA fundraising techniques and a complete understanding of the YMCA’s goals and mission. This position requires the ability to cultivate personal contacts with donors, potential donors and the board of managers, as well as raise dollars. As a member of the management team, The Healthy Living and Financial Development Director will also assist with Healthy Kids Day, the Easter Egg Hunt, and other branch related events. Selected candidate must achieve YMCA Team Leader certification level within 2 years from date of hire.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with members, guests and staff.
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate Group Exercise Instructors.
- Recruit, onboard and supervise volunteers.
- Develop and monitor program budgets.
- Develop and regularly evaluate program curriculum.
- Actively participate in Association Health & Wellness Initiatives and Teams.
- Develops opportunities for member ambassadors and opens doors to volunteerism.
- Communicates appropriately with program participants on progress.
- Assist in upholding all necessary requirements of the Metta Fund and Office on the Aging Grants.
- Coordinate Health and Wellness check in's with active older adults.
- Survey active older adult participants and members to collect data around our health and wellness efforts.
- Plan and Attend 1 monthly senior trip for members and community members.
- Collaborate with Project Open Hand to provide Breakfast and Lunch to community members
- Oversee Senior Food Pantry for over 100 community members and 10 volunteers
- Develop and implement an annual campaign plan that encourages volunteer participation and includes methods for getting more facility and program members engaged as donors.
- Provide leadership and support for the Annual Giving Campaign, in conjunction with the Associate Executive Director.
- Working with the Executive Director, develop and implement a year-round stewardship and cultivation plan.
- In collaboration with Executive Director and other key members of professional staff team, cultivate and secure corporate sponsorship/support for community programs.
- Increase financial support for the YMCA programs and services by collaborating with directors on funding needs, annual campaign, and identification and retention of grant funders.
- Identify, cultivate and write grant proposals to support the branch’s strategic objectives.
- Assure reporting and grant delivery is on track to help course correct on grant-funded projects as needed, ensure grant-delivery activities meet the spirit of the grant intent and grant funds are tracked and expended as approved
- Oversee entry on donor & prospect database.
- Provides leadership and support for special events.
- Develop and monitor long and short-term budgets designed to support the branch annual development and strategic plan.
- Complete and submit monthly financial variance reports as needed to Associate Executive Director.
- Minimum 21 years old
- Must be available Monday through Friday business hours; may be required to provide coverage on shifts/classes, including weekends.
- Minimum two years’ experience as a group exercise instructor or wellness coach or related field required.
- Minimum two years previous supervisory experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
- Experience in facilitating a group required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word required.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Experience with preparation and monitoring of budgets preferred.
- Monitoring of program data and report writing experience preferred.
- Hold current YMCA approved CPR/First Aid/Oxygen certifications.
- National certifications in Personal Training or Group Exercise preferred.
Salary: $60,000.00 - $67,500.00
